Jakarta, April 26, 2026 – EMC Grha Kedoya Hospital together with AFISMI DPW DKI Jakarta successfully held a Nuclear Medicine Seminar & Workshop with the theme "Assessing the Urgency of NEMA Test: Harmonization of IAEA Standards, Clinical Image Quality, and BAPETEN Policy Direction" on April 25–26, 2026. This activity aims to harmonize IAEA international standards with national policies to ensure the accuracy of Total Body PET/CT technology in Indonesia.
This event is a strategic collaboration involving BAPETEN (Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency), Indonesia's radiation regulatory body, who attended as speakers and invited guests. Furthermore, the College of Medical Physicists and AFISMI, the Indonesian medical physicist professional organization, provided full support. As the organizer, AFISMI's Jakarta chapter presented this forum as a means of in-depth education and a concrete step in overseeing policies based on scientific evidence.
This series of events presented leading experts, including Dr. Junan Imaniar Pribadi, Sp.KN-TM, FANMB, as Head of the Nuclear Medicine Unit of EMC Grha Kedoya Hospital who presented a topic on the clinical application of Dynamic Total Body PET/CT and the importance of image quality. And Mrs. Iin Indartati, ST, M.Si from BAPETEN presented material on "BAPETEN Policy Direction: Challenges & Adoption of IAEA Standards (NEMA Test) in PET/CT Operational Permits".
In the next session, Leonard Airell Craig, S.Si, Medical Physicist, who gave a seminar material on "IAEA Standards for PET/CT: Why NEMA Test is Mandatory Globally?" who explained the importance of NEMA Test as an international standard to ensure the quality and accuracy of PET/CT imaging results and acted as a hands-on instructor for the NEMA IQ Test practice.
