PET/CT Clinical Workshop & Seminar with International Experts at EMC Grha Kedoya

JAKARTA, MARCH 10, 2026 – EMC Grha Kedoya Hospital and Siemens Healthineers Indonesia welcomed Dr. Klaas Pieter Koopmans , a nuclear medicine specialist from the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), the Netherlands , for a clinical visit, workshop, and educational seminar aimed at developing molecular imaging and strengthening precision diagnostics in Indonesia.

This program brings together nuclear medicine specialists, radiologists, oncologists, and other medical specialists to exchange clinical insights and explore the development of PET/CT utilization in modern healthcare practice.

The two-day visit included clinical case discussions, a hands-on PET/CT image reading session, and a workshop and scientific seminar on the use of PET/CT in oncology and other applications such as cardiology, neurology, and infectious and inflammatory diseases. This initiative is expected to support the clinical adoption of molecular imaging , strengthen patient referral pathways, and contribute to the long-term development of molecular imaging services at EMC Grha Kedoya Hospital.

This collaboration also continues the important achievements of EMC Grha Kedoya Hospital with the presence of Biograph Vision Quadra PET/CT from Siemens Healthineers, a state-of-the-art total-body PET/CT system and the first of its kind in Asia .

With its extremely high sensitivity and the ability to capture detailed molecular information across the entire body simultaneously, the Biograph Vision Quadra enables faster scans (just 4 minutes) and higher diagnostic accuracy, with a dose 50% lower than other PET/CT systems. This capability helps doctors detect disease earlier, determine cancer stages more precisely, and monitor therapy responses more effectively.

"The presence of the Biograph Vision Quadra PET/CT system at EMC Grha Kedoya Hospital is an important step in the development of molecular imaging in Indonesia," said Dr. Henry Andrean, MHS, MARS, FISQua , Director of EMC Grha Kedoya Hospital . "By combining advanced technology, collaboration, and international expertise, we hope to further improve diagnostic accuracy and provide the best possible care for patients."

Meanwhile, Alfred Fahringer, President Director of Siemens Healthineers Indonesia, stated, “Through collaborations with leading hospitals such as EMC Grha Kedoya Hospital, Siemens Healthineers is committed to delivering a combination of cutting-edge medical technology, global expertise, and continuing education to improve the quality of patient care. In addition to providing innovative medical technology, we also support healthcare providers through training, workshops, and scientific exchange programs that enable clinicians to maximize the potential of this technology to provide the best possible benefits for patients.”

This workshop and seminar also serves as a multidisciplinary discussion platform for clinicians and referring physicians to explore the expanding use of PET/CT in various clinical applications.

Dr. Klaas Pieter Koopmans also emphasized the importance of international knowledge exchange in accelerating the adoption of advanced diagnostic technologies.

"It's encouraging to see how cutting-edge technology like the Biograph Vision Quadra is starting to be integrated into clinical practice in Indonesia. By combining leading-edge molecular imaging, multidisciplinary collaboration, and continuing education, hospitals can further improve diagnostic accuracy and ultimately deliver better patient outcomes," said Dr. Klaas Pieter Koopmans , a Nuclear Medicine specialist from the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), the Netherlands .

Through this collaboration, EMC Grha Kedoya Hospital and Siemens Healthineers Indonesia remain committed to expanding access to advanced diagnostic technology and strengthening healthcare capabilities in Indonesia through innovation, collaboration, and continuous medical education.
