ERACS DELIVERY METHOD (ENHACED RECOVERY AFTER CESAREAN SURGERY)

ERACS method   (Enhanced Recovery After Cesarean Surgery)   is a caesarean delivery technique that optimizes care starting from pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative so as to speed up the recovery process compared to a regular caesarean operation.

Excess:

  • Shortens hospital stay.
  • The pain felt post-operatively is reduced compared to a regular caesarean section.
  • Faster wound healing.
  • Nausea and vomiting are reduced

What should be prepared ?

  • Looking for a hospital   & the right doctor
  • Health and pregnancy conditions must be maintained
  • Avoid consuming alcohol and smoking because they can slow wound healing and increase the risk of bleeding during surgery
  • If you have serious illnesses, such as diabetes and high blood pressure, you should consult a doctor to get treatment so you can give birth with ERACS.

PRE OPERATION

You must fast 6 hours before the operation, during fasting you are still allowed to drink sweet drinks until the specified time. This is so that blood sugar levels remain stable and you don't feel weak. Then education will be provided and an explanation regarding the steps and operational plans that will take place.

INTRA OPERATIONS

The patient will undergo anesthesia/spinal anesthesia, namely half body anesthesia, but don't be afraid, you won't feel pain during the operation. The anesthetic given is regulated as best as possible so that the patient can mobilize as quickly as possible but the pain relief from the anesthetic is still well maintained. After the baby is born, its health will immediately be checked by a pediatrician, then it will be given to the mother for bonding or IMD.

POST OPERATION

After 2-4 hours after surgery you can move, sit and stand. And after the operation is finished, you can eat and drink, give breast milk & post-operative health checks.

Make sure to consult about ERACS before giving birth with an ob-gyn specialist so that the birth process goes smoothly, and the mother and baby are healthy.
