The Stroke Unit at EMC Sentul Hospital is here to provide integrated and comprehensive services for handling all problems that arise in connection with Stroke.

“Golden Time” Handling Stroke

The time of less than 4.5 hours since the onset of symptoms is called the Golden Time which is a very valuable time for stroke management. Therefore, it is hoped that the patient must arrive at the hospital in less than 2 hours from the time the symptoms appear.

Stroke will be severe and even at risk of death / permanent disability if treatment is late (> 4.5 hours).

Treatment of Stroke Unit at EMC Sentul Hospital, includes:

1. Thrombolysis Drug administration within <4.5 hours of the appearance of symptoms, aimed at breaking up the clot that is blocking the blood vessels.
2. Thrombectomy. breakthroughs in stroke management. This therapy uses special equipment to remove blockages in the blood vessels of the brain so as to provide better results, including independence and mobility after a stroke.
3. Neurosurgery. If necessary, action can be taken:
   • External Decompressive Craniectomy
   • Microneurosurgery Carotid Endarterectomy
   • Microvascular Bypass Surgery
   • Hematoma Evacuation and Microneurosurgery Hemostasis
   • Microsurgery Aneurysm Clipping. (If the "Coiling and Stenting" Interventional Radiology is not possible/not successful).
   • Microneurosurgery AVM/Angioma Removal.
