Asthma is a respiratory disorder characterized by narrowing and inflammation of the airways, causing a feeling of tightness and difficulty breathing. Other symptoms are chest pain and coughing. In people with asthma, the respiratory muscles will become stiff and the airways will narrow. Some of the triggers include cigarette smoke, exposure to chemicals, animal fur, or even cold air.

Based on data from the World Health Organization (WHO), there are around 235 million people with asthma worldwide. According to data from the Health Data Research of the Indonesian Ministry of Health in 2013, asthma sufferers in Indonesia are 4.5 percent of the total population.

In general, Asthma appears from an early age and can attack anyone. Even though it cannot be completely cured, it can be controlled when asthma attacks so that sufferers can enjoy a higher quality of life. In general, the treatment of asthma is divided into prevention and relief. At the prevention stage, a type of corticosteroid drug is used using a suction device or inhaler. Meanwhile, in the appeasement stage, beta agonist drugs such as Ventolin are used which also use inhalers.

Equally important is reducing or eliminating triggers from environmental factors such as dust, insects and pets that may cause allergies for people with asthma. Therefore, immediately go to the hospital if you experience symptoms of Asthma so that it can be treated before it gets worse.
