Getting to Know Emotional Numbness

Emotional numbness is a condition in which a person has difficulty expressing what they are feeling, or what they only feel is emptiness, even in certain forms of trauma anxiety.

There are several terms. Anhedonia is a condition in which the sufferer loses interest in activities that used to be fun or liked. As usual, do routine activities, namely sports, and hanging out with friends. But it's not usually done again. Emotional numbness is a condition when a person is unable to feel, identify and express their own emotions. Due to past trauma, numbing his emotions, not having reconciled in the past, or anti-depressant drugs.

Feeling empty or disappointed, also known as Borderline personality disorder (BPD) or borderline personality disorder, is a serious mental disorder that affects the feelings and ways of thinking of sufferers. This condition is characterized by moods and self-image that are always changing and difficult to control, as well as impulsive behavior.

Burnout or chronic stress. This emotional numbness can be felt by most teenagers and adults.

The characteristics of numbness: Starting to stay away from hobbies, staying away from closest people, lots of doubts/pessimism, difficulty concentrating, and difficulty empathizing.
Humans are social creatures, but what's unique about humans is that they determine the quantity, the most important thing is quality, not quantity, that's enough.

If someone withdraws, away from his favorite things, closes himself, things that are often done but avoided. It should alert.

Actually, emotional feelings of joy, sadness, disappointment, and so on are very normal. We must also enjoy our unavoidable. Without realizing that he can turn off his limbs, he feels that he is no longer able to go to the future because he closes emotionally. A healthy human is there when he feels valuable.

That should be done by people who feel this numbness. First, we have to care about ourselves / self-reflect to look ahead of ourselves. Second, to learn to accept, humans tend to avoid feeling negative conditions that exist, even though those feelings or emotions are neutral. Emotions need to be felt and accepted.

The role and support of the closest people is very important. It provides a sense of comfort, namely telling stories, listening, understanding, and not judging.
