Do not underestimate Arrhythmia, One of the Causes of Sudden Death

Arrhythmia is a health disorder that occurs in heart rhythms. This health disorder causes the heartbeat to feel irregular, it can be faster or slower. This condition can occur because the heart rhythm, which regulates the heartbeat so that it remains normal, does not work properly or is disturbed.

Health problems in this heart organ should not be underestimated. Because Arrhythmias that don't get immediate treatment can trigger more serious complications, thus triggering heart failure.

These health problems are closely related to cardiovascular conditions, such as high blood pressure, heart failure, heart valve disease, and coronary artery disease. Therefore, arrhythmias cannot be taken lightly because they can increase the risk of stroke. In some cases it even causes sudden death.

Symptoms that can be caused by arrhythmias include:

  • A pounding feeling in the chest
  • Dizzy;
  • Hard to breathe;
  • Chest pain;
  • Faster than normal heart rate (tachycardia);
  • Slower than normal heart rate (bradycardia);
  • Fatigue and weakness;
  • Faint.

Arrhythmias can also be triggered by an unhealthy lifestyle, such as not being able to manage stress properly, lack of sleep, smoking, excessive consumption of alcoholic or caffeinated drinks, and drug abuse.

Arrhythmia conditions can be caused by a number of conditions, namely:

  • Hypertension
  • Diabetes Abnormalities of the heart valves
  • Congenital heart disease
  • Coronary heart disease
  • Heart attack
  • Take cold medicine or allergy medicine
  • Electrolyte disturbances, such as excess or deficiency of potassium and hypomagnesemia
  • Thyroid disorders, eg hyperthyroidism
  • Heart valve disorders
  • Congenital heart disease
  • Coronary heart disease
  • Heart attack
