Ankylosing spondylitis is inflammation of the joints ( arthritis ) in the back area which makes the sufferer feel pain and stiffness in the back. Usually, this pain and stiffness will be felt, starting in the neck to the lower back. When the back becomes stiff, posture tends to bend and we will find it difficult to move. This disease is generally caused by genetic and environmental heredity. Common symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis are:

  • Back pain that comes on slowly. Usually, pain starts in the lower back area, then spreads to the upper back.
  • The appearance of swelling in the back area.
  • The back feels stiff and tends to bend.
  • Feel tired.
