If the test results show a leukocyte count exceeding the normal range, this condition is called leukocytosis or high leukocyte count. However, leukocytosis is not a disease, but rather a sign that the body is responding to a specific condition that requires further evaluation.

Conditions That Most Often Cause High Leukocytes

  • Pay attention to any accompanying symptoms, such as fever, cough, pain, infected wounds, or other complaints.

  • Follow your doctor's advice to have a repeat examination if necessary, especially if the increase in leukocytes is suspected to be only temporary.
